Dave Jensen is a recruiter, as well as a popular speaker and author on topics related to careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. His expertise comes from more than 28 years in scientific and executive search. Jensen writes the monthly career tips and techniques column, “Tooling Up,” for Science Careers. He is also the founder and moderator of the AAAS Science Careers Discussion Forum, a resource for scientists for more than two decades. Jensen is currently managing director and sector lead (biotechnology) for Kincannon & Reed, an executive search firm with 31 years experience in the field. Prior to K&R, Jensen was the founder and CEO of CareerTrax Inc, (CTI), an executive search firm working in the life sciences. |

As the head of antibacterial discovery, Jennifer Leeds is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of the new antibacterial portfolio within NIBR. The mission of the group is to identify safe and effective new chemical entities against bacterial targets to address unmet medical needs in patients with severe and drug-resistant bacterial infections. Leeds received her B.S. in microbiology from Cornell University, her Ph.D. in medical microbiology and immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. |
Matthew M. Seavey

Matthew Seavey received his undergraduate degree in microbiology and molecular genetics with a focus in immunology and undergraduate research from the University of Vermont. He has a masters and Ph.D. in immunology from University of Rochester. After finishing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and becoming involved in several spin-out biotechnology companies, he joined Cephalon as a team leader scientist and built his own group leading drug discovery efforts for oncology and inflammatory diseases. Seavey is now a pharmacology project leader in nonclinical development at Teva Pharmaceuticals, responsible for liaising efforts between U.S. and Israel R&D for pharmacology in multiple therapeutic areas. |
