"Support Women in Science" T-Shirt

Women are underrepresented and underrecognized in science: In the Nobel Prize’s 120-year history, only 3% of the winners in the sciences have been women.* A more diverse, equitable, and inclusive scientific enterprise benefits us all by expanding perspectives and increasing our collective ability to address the biggest challenges. At AAAS, the world’s largest scientific society, we’re doing our part to encourage more women to enter STEMM fields and recognize their contributions—and you can help us succeed.

Your membership supports such initiatives as:

  • AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors program: Brings together 125 women from a variety of STEMM careers to serve as high-profile role models for middle school girls. Ambassadors have received over $1 million in seed grants to support public engagement and inspire the next generation of women in science.
  • L’Oréal USA Fellowships For Women in Science: Awards five U.S.-based women researchers $60,000 each at the beginning of their scientific careers to put toward their postdoctoral research. AAAS helps manage the program’s application and peer-review process.
  • The Marion Milligan Mason Fund: Provides four grants of $55,000 every other year to early career women researchers engaged in basic research in the chemical sciences. The program also provides leadership development and mentoring opportunities.

As a AAAS Member, you will help ensure that more women have the support and opportunities they need to change the world through science.

Join today at the Silver level or above and receive our exclusive ‘Support Women in Science’ T-shirt. PLUS, you’ll gain access to breaking news and the very best research from around the world in Science, which will keep you informed of the many groundbreaking achievements by women in STEMM.
